After a long and challenging health battle, Jessie J is officially cancer-free. The singer-songwriter shared the life-changing update with her fans on Thursday, posting an emotional video that captured the moments leading up to her yearly health checkup following a breast MRI.
In the caption accompanying the post, she expressed the profound relief of receiving the news: “RESULTS ARE IN AND I AM CANCER FREE!! I sobbed for hours and then exhaled for the first time in a year.”
Throughout her journey, Jessie has been remarkably candid about the “lows and highs” of her fight against the disease. She first disclosed her breast cancer diagnosis in June 2025, admitting at the time that she had been hesitant to share such personal news but ultimately felt it was important to be transparent with her fans and those who support her.
The impact on her professional life was significant; last August, she was forced to cancel all U.S. dates of her No Secrets tour and postpone her U.K. and European shows to undergo a second surgery. However, her resilience remained evident. By the following month, she returned to the stage for the first time post-procedure, a milestone that was made even more poignant as it was the first time her two-year-old son witnessed her perform live. Addressing the crowd at the BBC Radio 2 In the Park festival in Essex, she shared, “I’m just so grateful to be here, you have no idea how grateful I am to see so many of you singing along after all these years.”
Before performing her track “Living My Best Life,” she offered insight into the song’s personal significance. “I was diagnosed literally two weeks before this song was released, and everyone said, ‘Let’s stop, let’s just put everything on hold,’ and I said, ‘That’s not what life’s about,’” she explained. “Life is about standing in the storm but holding up your umbrella and just keep moving forward.”
She concluded her message to the audience with a reminder to cherish the present: “So this song is called ‘Living My Best Life,’ and that is what I’m doing every single damn day. ‘Cause we never know when our last day will be, so soak this up, hug the people you love hard.”
The singer recently debuted Don’t Tease Me With a Good Time in November, marking her first album in eight years and her first independent release since parting ways with Republic Records.
