The incident occurred after his performance at the Muny on Saturday, August 29, sparking concern among fans regarding the 77-year-old singer’s health during his current touring cycle.
During the St. Louis show, Richie appeared to be in high spirits for the majority of the set. However, observers noted a moment of physical strain during the finale, “All Night Long,” when the singer requested a stool to remain seated for the remainder of the performance. This follows a pattern of recent health-related interruptions that have affected his scheduled appearances.
This latest medical development comes just months after a similar scare in St. Paul, Minnesota. During that June performance, Richie was forced to call an unexpected intermission approximately 55 minutes into the set after experiencing a bout of dizziness while performing “Dancing on the Ceiling.” At the time, he candidly told the audience, “When you’re feeling dizzy, sit your ass down,” before his saxophonist, Dino Soldo, eventually informed the crowd that the show could not continue.
Despite these setbacks, Richie has maintained a rigorous professional schedule. After the St. Paul incident, he successfully completed a string of dates with Earth, Wind, and Fire.
