Connor Gray is thinking in decades, not deadlines. In a recent conversation, the multi-hyphenate creative discussed a slate of projects spanning film, city planning, music, and even politics — all tied together, he says, by a single guiding idea: God, love, peace, unity, happiness.
The headline news is a pivot in his long-rumored Marvel pitch. What began as a personal Spider-Man screenplay exploring grief and manipulation through a Kingpin-versus-Parker lens has evolved into something larger: a proposed Defenders film. Set after Wilson Fisk’s return to power in Daredevil: Born Again, the story would bring together heroes including Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Kate Bishop’s Hawkeye, and The Punisher to stop Fisk from seizing unprecedented power. Gray says he hopes to meet with Marvel’s Kevin Feige in the coming months to pitch the project directly, framing it as both a continuation of existing storylines and a standalone emotional story for each character involved.
He’s also more guarded about a separate project called The Regent, which he confirmed has ties to The Sopranos universe but declined to detail further, preferring to keep the connection a surprise.
Beyond entertainment, Gray outlined ambitions in real estate development, including a long-held concept for an original American city he calls GRAYCALA, inspired by the immersive design of theme parks and the ambition of cities like Dubai. He’s also working on a new music project, studying the production techniques of Michael Jackson collaborators Teddy Riley and Darkchild, and floated the idea of becoming a nonpartisan political mediator rather than a candidate.
