The British musician Yungblud has proven that physical setbacks are no match for his dedication to his fanbase. During a recent stop on his European tour at the Vilar de Mouros festival in Portugal, the performer made headlines by crowdsurfing while confined to a wheelchair. The spectacle comes in the wake of a Yungblud broken leg, an injury sustained during a dirt-bike accident earlier this month.
The incident occurred just hours before a scheduled performance at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota on August 9. Despite the severity of the injury, the artist remained determined to fulfill his touring obligations. He previously informed fans that while his mobility would be limited and his usual high-energy stage antics would be curtailed, the show would go on as planned.
For his appearance in Portugal, the singer leaned into the medical theme, being escorted onto the stage by performers dressed as nurses. With his leg clearly visible in a cast, he maintained a spirited presence throughout the set, eventually leading to the moment where he was hoisted above the audience in his wheelchair.
Following the performance, the musician took to social media to lightheartedly comment on the risks of his actions. He has one remaining festival date at Pukkelpop in Belgium before he is expected to take a hiatus to focus on a more traditional recovery process as advised by medical professionals.
