Rose Gray has returned with her enormous new single, ‘Club To Your Arms,’ a powerful and sensual ode to the hazy, liminal space of late nights. The track, paired with a superb music video, captures the urgent, magnetic pull of finding a lover after a night out. In the visuals, Gray dances through London at daybreak, perfectly mirroring the song’s euphoric synths and anthemic chorus.

A Song Written in the Stars

“It feels so familiar,” Gray tells Rolling Stone UK. She reveals that the track is one she has felt destined to write since the inception of her career. “When I was writing it, I was convinced that it was already a song. I was meant to write this song. I can’t explain—I don’t know if it’s written in the stars or if it’s just the result of the hours I’ve put in.”

‘Club To Your Arms’ arrives on the heels of a collaboration with Demi Lovato and the deluxe edition of her debut album, Louder, Please. Following a successful headline tour and a standout performance at Primavera Sound, Gray is clearly entering a new, more ambitious chapter of her career.

The Creative Process

Reflecting on why now was the right moment for this release, Gray notes that her growth as an artist has been instrumental. “I’ve been making music for a long enough time that I’ve learned a lot about myself as an artist, as a writer, and as a woman. I’ve done my grind, and I feel like I’m making the best music of my life now.”

The concept for the song emerged from the specific feeling of the journey home. “I hadn’t yet written about that space between being out and coming home,” she explains. “That phrase, ‘club to your arms,’ when I first wrote it, I was in the room with Justin Tranter and Zhone. I initially questioned if it made sense, but then I realized it was perfect.”

Visualizing the Night

The music video, directed by Tess Lochanski, serves as a cinematic extension of the song’s themes. “I wanted to do something that was super London and represented that movement from the club to home,” Gray says. “We had this idea very early on of this red car traveling through the city, and it almost representing sex. The car was the act of lovemaking.”

Gray also touches on the relatable humor in the video’s conclusion, where she discovers she had her keys all along. “I’ve definitely been there! You think you’ve lost your keys, but you’re just prolonging the night. I enjoy it.”

Looking Ahead

As she moves into larger venues, Gray is embracing a more narrative-driven live show. “I have big pop girl dreams! I’m moving into a different stage of my career now. It’s bigger rooms, and I want to tell more of a narrative with my show.” With a newfound confidence and a dedicated creative circle, Gray is ready to turn those dreams into reality.
