The Telluride Film Festival recently hosted a major surprise with the world premiere of You Can See Everything, a new Elizabeth Holmes documentary from directors Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim. Produced by A24, the film offers an unprecedented look at the notorious Theranos founder, who was convicted of defrauding investors and subsequently sentenced to prison.
Attendees at the festival were required to surrender their mobile devices before the screening, maintaining a high level of secrecy around the project. This documentary marks another entry into the cinematic exploration of Holmes, following Alex Gibney’s The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley and the scripted series The Dropout, which featured Amanda Seyfried in the lead role.
A24 has also released a teaser for the film, showcasing a tense interaction between Fielder and Holmes. In the footage, Holmes attempts to defend her character, stating, “I’m not that person… I don’t have anything to deceive you on; of course, I’m not deceiving you. I’m engaging with you as a human being… I’m always being real.”
Nathan Fielder is widely recognized for his boundary-pushing work on Nathan For You, The Rehearsal, and the scripted drama The Curse. His co-director, Lance Oppenheim, has built a reputation for stylized non-fiction with projects like Spermworld and Ren Faire. Oppenheim is also set to release his fiction debut, Primetime, starring Robert Pattinson, later this month.
