Charli XCX Announces New Album 'Music, Fashion, Film'

Charli XCX has officially announced the upcoming release of her latest studio album, Music, Fashion, Film. The project serves as the highly anticipated follow-up to her critically acclaimed record Brat and is scheduled to arrive on July 24.

The album’s artwork is already generating significant buzz, featuring a striking cover that highlights three cultural icons, each representing a pillar of the album’s title: musician John Cale, fashion designer Marc Jacobs, and legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese.

Sharing the news with her fans on social media, Charli XCX wrote: “My new album Music, Fashion, Film is out July 24th. 11 songs, 30 minutes, 5 seconds. Available to pre-order now, love you xx.”

The singer has already provided fans with a preview of the new era through the release of two singles, “Rock Music” and “SS26.” The album title itself is derived from the lyrics of “SS26,” in which Charli sings: “We’re walkin’ on a runway that goes straight to hell / Nothing’s gonna save us, not music, fashion or film.”

In an interview with British Vogue earlier this year, Charli XCX noted that this project would offer a distinct contrast to the sound and aesthetic of Brat. “For me, it’s fun to flip the form,” she explained. “We know there’s gonna be people who are bothered by it, but that’s fine.”

While “Rock Music” sparked debate among listeners regarding its genre-bending approach, it has only heightened anticipation for the full tracklist. Beyond her musical endeavors, Charli XCX is also set to appear in the upcoming romantic drama Erupcja, which hits cinemas this Friday.
