Mighty Tortuga plays a style of immediately gratifying alt rock that’s got precedents in everyone from Jimmy Eat World to The Gaslight Anthem to Basement. They’re signed to Heading North Records, the label run by ex-Taking Back Sunday vocalist/guitarist Fred Mascherino, so you know that emo’s elder statesmen take Mighty Tortuga seriously–as they damn well should. After a string of EPs, band is gearing up to drop their self-titled LP later this year, and they’ve already begun teasing it with the lead single “Through Your Teeth.”
That song dropped earlier this month, and today we’re excited to premiere its trippy video. It’s as bright and colorful as “Through Your Teeth” itself. Check it out below, and be on the lookout for when the New Haven quartet drops Mighty Tortuga.
