To hear the song sped up with high-energy dance elements is definitely a change of pace, but doesn’t make the song any less bittersweet than its raw, original form. As Halsey pours her heart out, Tiësto picks it up for an unexpected yet uplifting release.
“You should be sad,” along with the rest of Halsey’s recent album Manic, is arguably the singer’s most diverse and mature release to date. Why Tiësto chose this particular track to remix? — Well, there was a four on the floor beat already put in place and perhaps it struck a chord.
