Norah Jones Gifts Fans With a Guns N' Roses Cover For 'These Strange Times': Watch

Norah Jones has some “Patience” during these strange times, and she’d like you to have it too — in the form of a Guns N’ Roses cover.

While at home and doing her part to reduce the spread of the virus, the nine-time Grammy winner decided to cover “Patience,” the only single off GnR’s 1988 EP Lies. “I heard a song yesterday that made me feel good and I’ve always wanted to cover it. So I gave it a try,” the singer explained in a tweet on Thursday (March 19) about her decision to give it a shot.

Jones also shared a video of her home performance. Dressed in an oversized hoodie, the songstress smiles at viewers then sits down at the piano before launching into the yearning hit single about missing a loved one.

The award-winning musician then urged her fans to help non-profit organizations during the global pandemic. “If you’re in a position to make a donation, there are many organizations who are getting food or supplies to people in need,” she noted, tagging Feeding America and MusiCares as two examples.

She also reminded everyone to play their part in flattening the curve: “And please stay home as a pledge of social responsibility to our medical professionals.”

Many musicians have taken to the internet to share at-home performances while practicing social distancing and self-isolation. Some are even offering live streams multiple times a week — including Miley Cyrus, Diplo, and Charli XCX — to help keep fans entertained as concerts and music events around the world are canceled or postponed.
