Not much is known about Edward Phillips but the Jersey-based artist has self-released several lo-fi albums including the brooding ‘House of Natural’. Now through Kidokoro records, Phillips has shared several singles of “fevery power slop” including his latest, Something Beautiful.
With melancholic tinged vocals reminiscent of Conor Oberst, hazy and swirling washed out textures collide with thick reverb. This is the sound between jumping off a cliff and plunging into a calm ocean with the sun gleaming from coast to coast.
