When a band names themselves after a Weakerthans song, you have certain ideas what to expect. With Night Windows, you’d be right. Their indie rock sound is tinged with elements of folk and country, enough to feel rustic without drifting into roots territory. They’ll be releasing their new LP In Memories at the end of the month, but today we’re excited to bring you can exclusive premiere of third single “She.” It’s darker, more driving than the two previously released singles.
Frontman Ben Hughes shares of “She” that
Distractions can be soothing, but I feel that they are ultimately draining. Earbuds. Earbuds louder. Sleeping with the TV on. The sobering effect of a hangover. In this song I am opening up about my tendency to overthink – and if there’s anything I’ve learned over the past year, it’s that when you make yourself vulnerable, people feel safe around you and they generally open up too. I’m finding that life works best when approached with honesty and kindness toward ourselves and others.
