Saint Motel gave a fringe-shaking performance of "Van Horn" on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night (Jan. 13) when the Los Angeles-based indie rock band turned the stage into the wild, wild West.
In low blue light, two matching dancers started off the folk-tinged track with their boot-slapping routine while wearing brown cowboy hats, white collared shirts with long fringes and daisy dukes. Then, lead vocalist A. J. Jackson came onto the scene with a stylish black-and-white cowboy get-up and put down his whiskey glass before moseying on up to the stage that had a desert backdrop.
In an exclusive interview with Billboard back in October when they released The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack: Part 1, Saint Motel described "Van Horn" as a result of "a crazy night in Van Horn, Texas" that was combined with the "guitar riff in the beginning [that] has a western tinge to it." And this performance fully fleshed out that vision.
