It’s only the beginning of February, but already I’ve got a favorite new discovery of 2026. That’d be midmajor, a Nashville indie rock duo whose first song dropped exactly two months ago today. Last month they released “Clothes We’re Not In,” and today they’re back with their third song, and it’s their best yet.
They cite southern indie rock institutions like Manchester Orchestra, Microwave, and All Get Out as influences, but to me what comes across more on “Same Page” is the sleeker, more electronic-infused material that Foxing and Caracara were putting out around the turn of the decade. It’s excellent, and I couldn’t be more stoked to bring you an exclusive premiere of the single.
Frontman Eric Emling shares that “Same Page” “is about the honeymoon phase of a deep connection, whether that be romantic or otherwise. Where commonality runs deep, feels too good to be true, and signals that something greater might be at play.”
Give the song a listen below.
