Pran Isn’t Holding Back with “All I Need Is Love”

Pran, born Jessada Malakul, is a 21-year-old singer, songwriter, and producer who’s never been shy about wearing his heart on his sleeve. Originally from Bangkok and now based in Sheffield, the young artist makes his official debut with the single “All I Need Is Love,” a moody electropop track that reads like a diary entry set to synths and smooth R&B vocals. Pran wrote, produced, and performed the song himself, blending the influences of The Weeknd and Jung Kook into something that feels both intimate and expansive.

The track is a confession as much as it is a statement: heartbreak, self-doubt, and the tentative thrill of self-love are all wrapped into a three-and-a-half-minute mood piece that announces Pran’s readiness to step into the world on his own terms. The accompanying music video mirrors the single’s emotional arc, painting bold visuals of chasing happiness and finding it within oneself, drenched in a striking red palette.

“All I Need Is Love” is just the first taste of Pran’s upcoming 2026 album, which promises to dive deeper into pop, electronic, and hip-hop sounds. Despite the polish, Pran admits the song still makes him cringe at times. “Mostly contentment that I’m brave enough to release my own music to the public. But sometimes I still cringe at my own song, as I feel like there are a lot of areas I can still improve,” he says.

Writing and producing alone shaped the record in unexpected ways. “It made the song authentic, but on the other hand, it’s only me doing it, so I might miss some things that professionals could add,” Pran says. Yet that rawness is part of the charm—he’s not aiming for perfection; he’s aiming for honesty.

Pran’s perspective on music is rooted in feeling, not formula. “Mostly, I just keep it rooted in my own feeling because I have no idea how people will interpret the song, and I kind of like it that way,” he explains. Even his upbringing, spanning two continents, feeds into a musical sensibility that is intuitive rather than calculated.

He approaches his craft with a sense of exploration. “For this album, it began as a bucket list that I wanted to try my hand on. Now I just wanted to see how far I could take it while knowing that if at some point I wanted to change my direction, I could,” he says. In a landscape where young artists are often measured by streams and trends, Pran seems determined to define his path in his own terms.

If “All I Need Is Love” is any indication, Pran’s debut is less about announcing himself and more about showing the world the space his music occupies—a place where vulnerability is strength, mistakes are part of the process, and self-love is the ultimate reward.
