Photography + Review: Manchester Orchestra and Foxing

In support of their album The Million Masks of God, Manchester Orchestra performed at a sold-out The Fillmore in Detroit. Opening for Manchester Orchestra were Michigander and Foxing, two powerful indie-alternative acts. Foxing’s vocalist Conor Murphy danced his heart out while performing an energetic set of material spanning all of their releases. Manchester Orchestra’s set consisted mainly of new songs from The Million Masks of God, and their previous release A Black Mile to the Surface. The highlight of the show, though, was when frontman Andy Hull questioned how much of the audience were “OG Manchester Orchestra fans” before performing “I Can Barely Breathe” from their debut album I’m Like a Virgin Losing a Child. The crowd did an excellent job at singing along to the 2006 track. They finished the night with an encore of “100 Dollars” and “The Silence”. Check out pictures from the night from our photographer Alec while you stream the latest Manchester Orchestra album below!
