Valentine's Day is just around the corner, and rather than sticking to the typical red roses or heart-shaped box of chocolates, how about some socks? Linda Ramone, widow of the late punk legend Johnny Ramone, has teamed up with Happy Socks for a fun collection.
Inspired by her epic rock n' roll love story, Linda created a handful of cool prints that reflect various phases of her time with the Ramones guitarist. The special edition Happy Socks x Linda & Johnny Ramone collection, which is now available today (Jan. 15), features three pairs of cotton crew socks ($16 each) and one pair of knee-highs ($18) with prints varying from guitar and lightning bolts to "J&L" arrow-stricken hearts. There is also a special gift box for $48 that is inspired by Linda's favorite mural in the home she shared with Johnny.
“Love to me means being happy and surrounding yourself with things that make you happy — and Johnny made me very happy," Linda Ramone states in the press release. “Everyone should have some glam and glitter, and some punk, and some '60s in their life."
“Many of rock’s greatest relationships burned bright and faded fast,” the Happy Socks website explains. “But fashion icon Linda Ramone and legendary guitarist Johnny Ramone never lost sight of what truly mattered. Their story is one of true love that transcends time.”
The latest Happy Socks collection follows the Swedish brand's previous collaborations with the Beatles, Pharrell Williams and Andy Warhol's iconic banana print.
