In a series of explosive public statements, Toie Roberts, the mother of Lil Poppa‘s son, has accused the late rapper’s manager of crossing professional boundaries and engaging in an inappropriate relationship with the artist. The controversy erupted following a recent podcast appearance by the manager, known as DeeDee, which has sparked a heated exchange between the two women.
On Monday, June 29, DeeDee appeared on the Perspektives with Bank podcast hosted by Big Bank. During the interview, she addressed the mental health struggles of the late 25-year-old rapper, born Janarious Mykel Wheeler, and placed the blame squarely on Roberts. DeeDee alleged that Roberts frequently restricted the rapper from seeing their three-year-old son, Kofi J’nar, which she claimed exacerbated his depression.
Roberts, however, vehemently denied these claims and took to her Instagram Story to fire back with severe allegations of her own. She accused DeeDee of manipulating her position as a manager to pursue a romantic interest in the rapper. “You’re sick. A 50-year-old tied-ass whore who fell in love with a young-ass boy you were supposed to be ‘managing,'” Roberts wrote in her post. She further asserted that the tension between them was never about the child, but rather a result of DeeDee’s alleged unprofessional conduct and boundary-crossing behavior.
Beyond the allegations of an inappropriate relationship, Roberts accused DeeDee of financial impropriety, claiming the manager had been stealing money from the late rapper. According to Roberts, the rapper was aware of these alleged actions, which she suggests served as the true catalyst for his mental health decline. “He was onto you just like everybody else,” Roberts stated, suggesting that DeeDee is now using her as a scapegoat to deflect from her own alleged misconduct.
