Gracee Shriver has a name for the kind of country music she’s making — and chances are, it’s unlike anything you’ve heard before. The Oklahoma native calls it “Boujee Boot Country,” a style that blends rock influences, witty storytelling, and plenty of personality. Now, she’s putting it all on display with her debut EP, Gracee Shriver Pretty Psycho.
For Shriver, the project isn’t just a collection of songs; it’s a definitive introduction to her identity as an artist. Released on June 26, Pretty Psycho serves as her first major EP, featuring a mix of humorous, heartfelt, and relatable tracks inspired by everything from complicated relationships to the beautiful chaos of everyday life.
Defining Boujee Boot Country
The project pairs Shriver’s signature raspy vocals with detailed storytelling and a rock-influenced country sound, exploring themes of confidence, heartbreak, and self-awareness. “With this Pretty Psycho EP being my first ever project, I wanted it to be something that really showcased my Boujee Boot spunk branding and style,” Shriver explains.
She credits a diverse array of influences, from the legendary Wanda Jackson and Ernest Tubb to modern icons like Miranda Lambert and Brad Paisley, for inspiring her love of clever songwriting. “My favorite thing about them was their witty spin on lyrics,” she says. “I wanted these songs to be carefree, roll-your-windows-down kind of jams that brought a humorous edge to true, relatable life stories of mine.”

While Shriver’s signature studded boots and bold style have become part of her visual identity, she emphasizes that “Boujee Boot Country” is about much more than fashion. It is an ethos of honesty, humor, and confidence that has quickly become her calling card. “Whether they’re dealing with a breakup, pretentious guy, crazy girl, or just want to jam, there is something in here for them!”
A Rising Voice in the Genre
Long before the release of Pretty Psycho, Shriver was already carving out a space for herself in the industry. Her journey began at just nine years old when she performed her very first show in front of country legend Garth Brooks. She soon picked up a guitar and began writing songs inspired by her faith, family, and real-life experiences.
In 2019, she introduced herself to a national audience as a Top 16 finalist on NBC’s The Voice. Since then, Shriver has performed at major events including CMA Fest and the Rock the Country Festival, earning recognition for her distinctive voice and fearless approach to the genre.
With the release of Pretty Psycho, Shriver hopes listeners walk away with a better understanding of her unique brand of country—and perhaps a few new favorite songs to blast with the windows rolled down. As she continues to rise, she remains one of the most exciting new voices proving that traditional storytelling still has a place in modern music.
We all know country stars including Carrie Underwood, Kellie Pickler, Scotty McCreery and more got their start on reality television. But do you remember which future country singers appeared on shows like Redneck Island and Survivor?
