Looking at the artwork for Ellen May’s upcoming A Lonely Way to Go EP, you probably have a good idea what to expect. The band cites as key influences Hot Mulligan, Free Throw, and the Wonder Years, so, yes, you’re getting some grade-A angsty, starry-eyed pop-punk. The Perth duo recently linked up with emo/pop-punk powerhouse We’re Trying Records, and it’s a match made in heaven. Their two-track Dying to Live, released last October, showed promise, and A Lonely Way to Go builds on it in every way.
Lucky for you, we’ve got a full premiere of the EP before it hits streaming tomorrow. Expect rowdy hooks and immediately memorable riffs, and don’t say we didn’t warn ya. Check out A Lonely Way to Go below.
A Lonely Way to Go is out tomorrow via We’re Trying.
