Drew Barrymore is revealing that her Scream character may actually not be dead after all.
Barrymore, who played Casey Becker in the film, opened up about her character’s death on her talk show, revealing that Becker may actually still be alive.
“I asked you if maybe your character, maybe, survived,” her friend Ross Matthews said (quotes via Entertainment Weekly) on the April 12 airing.
“You know, doctors can do amazing things! And you said, maybe there’s a chance she did survive. So, does this make you want to bring her back for Scream VII?” he continued.
Barrymore echoed his sentiment that Becker is still alive.
“It’s funny. I’ve never thought of it this way, but I’m pretty sure a C-section is comparable to what happened to her. Like, literally. And I’m here! I’m fine! So, maybe Casey Becker will be okay,” she shared.
Barrymore further teased that Becker might come back and she would reprise the role.
“With good writing, you can make anything happen,” she said.

In the past, Barrymore has payed homage to her iconic character. In 2020 she wore Becker’s signature blonde bob on her talk show for a sketch that focused on Becker ghosting Ghostface.
In the skit, Barrymore can be seen walking down the street when all of a sudden her phone begins to show text messages from Ghostface asking her to “please pick up.” However, it was not meant to be and Barrymore – a.k.a. Becker – declining to answer the messages.
Even though she is years removed from her time on Scream, Barrymore had nothing but love for the series, calling it “just so fun and cool” on her show.
