Portland-based multi-instrumentalist Alex Schiff aka Blue Canopy, formerly of Modern Rivals, has announced the follow up to his 2020 debut EP ‘Mild Anxiety’. Motovun is the first taste of the forthcoming ‘Sleep While You Can’ and finds Schiff exploring anxiety. Inspired by a town in Croatia, it’s a dreamy slice of bedroom pop with swirling guitars that’ll wash away your worries.
On the inspiration, Schiff offered:
“Motovun is this beautiful hilltop town in Croatia my wife and I went to as part of our honeymoon… the song is about the anxiety around having a kid and what that will mean in terms of losing the past version of ourselves and our relationship before our son, Graham, was born.”
