LA duo Tangerine will release their debut LP You’re Still the Only One this fall, following a decade of EPs and stray singles. So far they’ve already released the album’s opening track, the dust-flecked indie rocker “Timeless,” and today we’re excited to team up with Tangerine to bring you “Thieves.” Where “Timeless” was soft and sultry, “Thieves” is a more stripped-back track that allows frontwoman Marika Justad’s gossamer voice to stand front and center; it’s not too far off from the mellow pop-country that Kacey Musgraves explores on Deeper Well.
Tangerine shares that the song “reflects on a relationship with a troubled soul – someone who always has an enemy to fight or a fist to raise, even if it’s against nothing and they’re just whiffing at the air. It’s about seeing that person lost in the bigness of the world, recognizing both our connection and the distance between us.” You can listen to “Thieves” today, along with its video, directed by Justad’s sister (and ex-bandmate) Miró. Check it out below.
You’re Still the Only One is out October 25th.
