Fresh off a recent run of dates with Texas shoegaze band Teethe, the Newcastle-upon-Tyne duo lots of hands has signed with Fire Talk Records and released a new single titled “rosie.” The hazy, self-engineered track fuses indie rock and folk with ambient downtempo. lots of hands, comprising Billy Woodhouse and Elliot Dryden, is the latest iteration in the slowcore renaissance, which has empowered a budding generation of artists to experiment with distortions and heavy reverb from their bedrooms and home studios.
“I was trying to paint a picture of someone who feels connected to their place in the world and sacrifices their relationships with others to try and move forward peacefully,” shares Woodhouse. Check out “rosie” below.
Between their steady stream of releases since mistake in 2020 and support for Deerhoof and Cola on their European tours, lots of hands has amassed an international following. Be on the lookout for more from them later this year. In the meantime, keep up with them on Instagram and Twitter.
