Photography + Review: Touche Amore, Vein, Militarie Gun, Scowl

When Touché Amoré released their fifth studio album, Lament, in October of 2020, the world was still at a standstill. Live shows were a distant memory and a pain point while we pondered if we would ever stand in a crammed venue, sweating, screaming, and enjoying music this way again. And though the band jumped on the livestream bandwagon, and though it was thoroughly enjoyable to watch them perform songs off this incredible new record, something was still missing.
Fast forward to March 23, 2022, to the Paradise Rock Club in Boston, MA, and everything we had been missing was finally thrown our way. Touché Amoré brought all they have when they took the stage following a brief but pummeling performance by Santa Cruz punk outfit, Scowl, followed by a jump heavy set from Los Angeles based Militarie Gun, and a complete assault by local hardcore/metal maniacs, Vein.
Touché frontman, Jeremy Bolm, was back and forth across the stage and on the railing in front of the crowd, encouraging the back and forth of audience participation, shoving the mic for fans to scream, and taking immense joy as wave after wave of crowd surfers fell over the barricade and attempted to rush the stage.
The band was flawless switching from new tracks like “Come Heroine” and “Reminders” to their back catalog with songs like “New Halloween” and “~” and never once made us feel like they had taken even a second off from performing.
We all need Reminders so see some photos from the night below.
