Moby Announces New Charitable Album & Shares Daring Single 'Power Is Taken': Listen

Moby just announced his 16th studio album, and he promises to donate all proceeds to a range of charities and organizations dedicated to a more sustainable future for all living creatures on Earth. It's a dance-heavy LP called All Visible Objects, and it's scheduled for full release March 6.

The charitable release was inspired by his recent experience auctioning his vast collection of synthesizers and drum machines, the money from which he donated to many of the same organizations. Supported organizations include Brighter GreenMercy For AnimalsRainforest Action Network, and the ACLU.

All Visible Objects includes a cover of Roxy Music's "My Only Love" and 10 other originals, a handful of which contain lyrics that take the oppression, rapid change and defiant optimism that define our modern landscape. It's synth-heavy and beat driven with a touch of classic Moby ambiance. Lead single "Power Is Taken" sets the tone with daring siren synths, a driving beat and aggressive call to action. Listen to the track below.

The "Southside" producer has long been a vocal social warrior. His seminal album Play, released in 1999, was paired with a series of personally-penned essays on fundamentalism, veganism, compassion and Christianity. He's not without his own controversy, but he stands loudly against right-wing political agendas. He even tattoo'd the words "vegan for life" on his neck.
