Federal authorities have officially filed NBA Ben10 charges and indicted OG 3Three in connection with a violent robbery and shooting incident involving AllStar JR. Following their arrest by the FBI on September 10, both individuals now face federal counts of aiding and abetting interference with commerce by robbery, as well as aiding and abetting the brandishing of a firearm during a crime of violence.
The charges, detailed in court documents made public on Wednesday, September 16, link the two men to a confrontation at Confessions restaurant in Houston on April 8. They are among six individuals arrested in relation to the incident, which saw a targeted robbery attempt escalate into a shootout.
According to the Houston Police Department, the altercation began when multiple men attacked AllStar JR in an attempt to steal his jewelry. During the struggle, AllStar JR reportedly managed to gain control of a firearm that had been dropped and fired at his assailants. Three people were struck by gunfire, including NBA Ben10, who has reportedly suffered irreversible paralysis as a result of his injuries.
In a separate legal development, federal authorities arrested AllStar JR on April 23. He has been charged with one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Defending his client against the allegations, OG 3Three’s attorney, Cordt Akers, issued a firm statement regarding the rapper’s involvement in the case:
“Being a witness to a crime doesn’t make you a criminal any more than standing in a garage makes you a car. Mr. Jean-Pierre didn’t plan a robbery, didn’t commit one, and didn’t intend to help anyone who did. We look forward to the truth coming out in court.”
Legal representatives for NBA Ben10 have not yet provided an official comment on the pending charges.
