Mac Luster began in 2013 and called it quits five years later, scrubbing any evidence of their existence off streaming services. The band reconnected earlier this decade, and last month they released “Waiting Game,” the first song from the new and reinvigorated version of Mac Luster.
Today they’re following it up with an even better single. “The Lovers (Truce)” draws from jangle pop and heartland rock in equal measure, a three-minute sugar rush. The band shares that, in writing “The Lovers (Truce),” they “set out to write a more traditional love song, but that’s never really been in my wheelhouse. I tend to get stuck in the post-love space, where the lessons are learned. ‘The Lovers’ is about two people reconnecting long after the romance has ended, in order to make amends with each other.”
We are proud to bring you an exclusive premiere of the single; give it a listen below.
