J-pop singer-songwriter Gen Hoshino shared the new animated music video accompanying “Sarashi-mono,” a track on his latest EP, Same Thing, featuring PUNPEE.
The “Idea” singer tried his hand at rapping for the first time on this laid-back mid-tempo number, collaborating with the sought-after Japanese rapper and music producer PUNPEE, who also co-produced.
Ryu Okubo directed the charming, colorful visuals, which traced the actual movements of the two stars as they performed the song and used more than 2,000 frames to animate them in a style reminiscent of American mid-century 2D graphics combined with contemporary imagery. Watch below:
