Video Premiere: Careen – “Spit Choke”

Careen’s style of noisy, left-field post-hardcore clearly borrows from the Dischord Records roster, but in 2022 it’s a refreshing, unique sound. The band is equal parts Big Black and Unwound, too, all shaken up for good measure. “Spit Choke,” for the uninitiated,” is a great introduction to the band–and, luckily, we’ve got an exclusive premiere of the video.
Like the band’s ragged noise rock, “Spit Choke”‘s video is blurry an disorienting, a perfect companion piece to the aggressive single. It’s a big step forward from the Slint-indebted sounds of their Rot EP from last year, and you can check it out below.
