Video Premiere: A Place for Owls – “Airport”
Posted: by The Editor
A Place for Owls’ debut EP dropped in summer 2020, a melodic and charming dose of acoustic emo. Earlier this year, the Colorado-based five-piece released their first full-band tracks, “Airport” and “My Own,” two driving indie rock bangers the band felt didn’t quite gel with the rest of the full-length they’ve been working on.
Where “My Own” veers towards pop-punk, “Airport” is a little more solemn without sacrificing any energy; when it first came out, I compared it to UK seven-piece Lakes, and I stand by that, or maybe one of the more upbeat songs on a recent Death Cab LP. Either way, A Place for Owls is one of my favorite rising emo projects, and I think I speak for everyone at The Popdosemagazine when I say we’re stoked to premiere the video for “Airport.”
The band’s first ever music video, “Airport” is a collection of scenes of suburban life, notably devoid of human presence. While it could come off somewhat eerie, it ends up a pastoral, beautiful video that perfectly pairs with the track. Check that out below.
