The Blink-182 drummer’s new imprint is a joint venture with Elektra.
Travis Barker is launching a new record label focused on his work across all genres, it was announced Friday (Dec. 13).
DTA Records, which signed a joint venture with Elektra Music Group, will be an outlet for Barker’s collaborations in the hip-hop and other areas and serve as a home for artist development under his guidance. The label’s founding comes at the tail end of a year that saw Barker team with such hip-hop artists as Lil Nas X, $uicideboy$, XXXTentacion, Lil Peep, Pharrell and 03 Greedo.
"I wanted a label partner that I trusted with true artist development,” he said of Elektra’s involvement. “As an artist, it's important to me that an artist's vision is protected at all costs. It's crucial that I'm able to look an artist in the eye and believe it when I say we can take them from a basement to an arena. Elektra's track record and belief are proof of that, and I'm stoked to continue to build that legacy together through DTA Records."
To celebrate the announcement, Barker is sharing the inaugural release from DTA Records, a collaboration with Lil Wayne and Rick Ross titled “Gimme Brain.” According to a press release, the song “represents a continuation of Barker's passion for beat making and production, especially within hip hop which was his first love growing up.”

In addition to his recent hip-hop collaborations, Barker is currently a member of both Blink-182 — which released their eighth studio album Nine this year — and the punk-rap group Transplants. He additionally serves as the exclusive on-album drummer for both Goldfinger and FEVER 333. In October, he hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Rock Songwriters chart for charting 15 tracks on Hot Rock Songs, including the Machine Gun Kelly and Yungblud collaboration “I Think I’m OKAY.”
