Photography + Review: Hippo Campus and Jelani Aryeh

By putting honesty about their anxieties, fears about growing older, and maintaining a career in music at forefront of their latest efforts, Hippo Campus have allowed themselves to let loose not only on their newest record but in their live performance as well. On their tour in support of LP3, a band that used to be knit tightly together during their set are now dancing around on stage and embracing the freedom in not caring what others think. This has welcomed fans into letting go along with them, even if only for the two hours they spend at the show. Selling out the House of Blues is no small feat and Hippo Campus have succeeded in doing this twice with a crowd that was eager and ready for anything. Ranging from the bone shaking LP3 opener “2 Young 2 Die” all the way to the rarely played “Suicide Saturday”, Hippo Campus’ hit-packed setlist spanned their entire discography. With support from Jelani Aryeh who’s hit “Stella Brown” recently became a success on TikTok, this tour is a need experience to remind us to let go in these stressful times. We’re excited to show you the photo gallery by our photographer Kyle from Sunday’s show. Check them out while you give the latest album LP3 a spin below!
