We’re less than a week away from Valentine’s Day, so this is as good a time as any to appreciate all the anthems about love that EDM has produced over the years. Nicky Romero is no stranger to embracing his softer side, his 2013 track with Avicii, “I Could Be The One” is like a Tier 1 Hall of Fame EDM track. Nick has tapped into that same spirit for his latest single “Stay.”
After starting the year off with a more club focused track, “I See,” Nicky returns to some of the more radio friendly sounds that he was dabbling in last year. Built around a bright female vocal, some nice piano work from Nick, and a bouncy drop that plays perfect either in the car or at the main stage.
The warm tone of the song is conveyed not just through the music, but also through the vocals; in which an unnamed female singer yearns to not grow old, so she can stay in that one moment in time with someone special. “Stay” is definitely a song that’s way better with someone next to you to dance with.
