Lady Gaga, Max Martin & More Lead Dance/Electronic Songwriters Chart, Thanks to 'Stupid Love'

The track tops Hot Dance/Electronic Songs for a second week.

Lady Gaga, BloodPop, Max Martin, Ely Rise and Tchami all tie at No. 1 on Billboard‘s Dance/Electronic Songwriters chart (dated March 21), as Gaga’s single “Stupid Love,” which the quintet co-wrote, tallies its second week atop the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs ranking.

The single drew 32.1 million airplay audience impressions and 11.3 million U.S. streams and sold 10,000 downloads in its second full tracking week, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.

Martin boasts an especially storied career on Billboard‘s charts, having written 22 Billboard Hot 100 No. 1s, the third-most in the chart’s 61-year history, after Paul McCartney (32) and John Lennon (26). He first led as a writer of Britney Spears’ “…Baby One More Time” in 1999.

“Stupid Love” is Martin’s second No. 1 as writer on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, after Ariana Grande’s “Break Free,” featuring Zedd, in 2014 (following the list’s launch in 2013).

Meanwhile, BloodPop (real name: Michael Tucker) and Tchami (real name: Martin Bresso) extend their shared chart histories with Gaga. BloodPop co-wrote and co-produced Gaga’s “Perfect Illusion,” which hit No. 15 on the Hot 100 in 2016, while Tchami co-wrote and co-produced Gaga’s “Applause,” a No. 4 Hot 100 hit in 2013.

BloodPop, Martin and Tchami, who produced “Stupid Love,” tied at No. 1 on the Dance/Electronic Producers chart dated March 14.

The weekly Dance/Electronic Songwriters and Dance/Electronic Producers charts are based on total points accrued by a songwriter and producer, respectively, for each attributed song that appears on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart; As with Billboard‘s yearly recaps, multiple writers or producers split points for each song equally (and the dividing of points will lead to occasional ties on rankings).
