Kris Kolls has been singing her whole life. Competitions, theater, cabaret stages, festivals — she’s always been on a mic. But the Russian-born, Istanbul-based artist isn’t interested in being just another pop hopeful. On her new single “You Know,” she’s building a version of herself that feels raw, cinematic, and fully in control.
Growing up in Yekaterinburg, Kris Kolls was immersed in performance before she could even process what that meant. Later, studying acting and directing at Moscow’s VGIK, she learned how to hold an audience — not just with sound, but with presence. You can hear all of that training in “You Know.”
The track feels intimate but commanding, carried by synths that glide under her voice like water under ice. She cites Britney Spears, Michael Jackson, Rihanna, and Banks as her guiding lights, but Kolls isn’t chasing anyone else’s sound. Instead, she threads in her own cinematic instincts. The result is pop that doesn’t collapse under polish — it simmers.
Kris Kolls has already released seven tracks, but this one feels different: a line in the sand, a marker of what’s next. Istanbul has become her creative home base, but her vision is global. With every release, she’s carving out a space that blends Russian roots, international influences, and a distinctly personal voice.
With more music on the way, Kris Kolls isn’t trying to convince you she’s an artist worth watching — she’s already acting like one.
