Toronto-based Joël dropped his last EP, “Grunge Gospel – Side A” a few months ago and is preparing to release Side B later this Spring. So Blue is the first taste of Side B and oof. Led by a visceral guitar, it gradually builds with Joël’s gorgeous vocals that seize and grip, soaring to new emotional heights like hurtling through the void. Speaking on the inspiration, Joël says:
“It’s about being in a toxic relationship, but not realizing what it was until I walked away. Turned out the pride I used to lock away the intimacy was really hidden insecurities. Truth is you can’t give someone the love they desire if you don’t love yourself… fully.”
