Carlos Vives Notches 19th Top 10 on Tropical Airplay Chart With 'No Te Vayas'

Plus, chart moves for Christian Nodal & Bad Bunny.

Carlos Vives locks up his 19th top 10 on the Tropical Airplay chart (dated March 21) as “No Te Vayas” surges 19-9 in its second week on the list. It’s been seven months since the Colombian last visited the chart as he scored his eighth No. 1, when “Si Me Das Tu Amor,” with Wisin, landed atop the Aug. 17, 2019-dated list.

“No Te Vayas” is the first single from Vives’ upcoming album, which was released March 5 and debuted on the Tropical Airplay chart (dated March 14) at No. 19 from a partial week of tracking. The vallenato-pop tune climbs to the list’s top 10 by pulling 2 million in audience impressions earned in the week ending March 15, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data, a lofty 431% increase from its previous week.

“No Te Vayas” is Vives’ sixth straight top 10, dating back to June 2016 when “La Bicicleta,” with Shakira, debuted at No. 1. Since then, he’s placed four other entries in the Tropical Airplay’s top 10: “El Arrepentido,” with Melendi (No. 8, peak, May 2018); “Hoy Tengo Tiempo (Pinta y Sensual)” (No. 1, Sept. 2018); “Un Poquito,” with Diego Torres (No. 8, Nov. 2018); and “Si Me Das Tu Amor,” with Wisin (No. 1, Aug. 2019).

Christian Nodal, Bad Bunny Make Moves: On the Latin Digital Song Sales chart, Christian Nodal debuts at No. 7 with “Se Me Olvidó Otra Vez” with 1,000 digital downloads sold in the week ending March 12.

Nodal secures his second top 10, which follows “Adios Amor,” his first chart entry and first top 10 (No. 5 peak, April 2017).

Elsewhere, as Bad Bunny’s “La Dificil” lifts 2-1 on the Latin Streaming Songs chart, he earns his sixth No. 1 and now ties Ozuna for the most-No. 1s on the chart.

“La Dificil” moves to the top despite a 21% decline in streaming activity, logging 14.7 million U.S. streams.
