Austin’s Oblivion Access music festival will return for its fourth annual event with headlining performances from Carcass, Youth of Today, Daughters, Zola Jesus and more. The newly announced acts will join Swans, Converge, Lil Ugly Mane, Anna von Hausswolff, True Widow, Despise You and Primitive Man, who were announced in November.
The multi-venue festival also announced in November that it would be rebranding from the Terror Fest to Oblivion Access and will take place from June 5-7 in Downtown Austin’s Red River Cultural District.
The 2020 lineup will mark the festival’s biggest year with more than 50 heavy metal, extreme rock, hip-hop and experimental acts. Artists including Autopsy, Duster, Converge, Vio-Lence, Repulsion, A Place to Bury Strangers and Melt Banana will play across multiple stages at local venues Barracuda and Empire Control Room & Garage, as well as a newcomer to the festival, the iconic Mohawk.
This year’s unique performances will also include a special collaborative concert between industrial rock duo Uniform and extreme-metal legends The Body, as well as the Halloween-metal band Acid Witch who create their music through mixing doom metal and horror film soundtracks such as the music of John Carpenter's Halloween.
Originally Austin Terror Fest, Oblivion Access was created in 2016 and continues to be independently produced by Austin-based entrepreneurs Dusty Brooks and Dorian Domi. According to the festival each year the event continues to grow with last year’s festival hosting the largest number of attendees to date, which included selling out of all festival badges in advance for the first time. The 2019 festival included 2,500 attendees and more than 30 music acts from Texas and around the globe, including Lighting Bolt, Pig Destroyer, Goatwhore, TR/ST, Alcest, Bongzilla and more.
Three-day general admission passes are on sale now for $200. Weekend general admission passes guarantee access to all official festival shows at Barracuda, Empire Control Room & Garage and Mohawk throughout the three-day festival weekend. Single-show passes will also be made available for purchase online in the coming weeks.
