"Lay Your Head on Me" arrives Thursday.
In the spirit of anything being possible, Major Lazer teased a forthcoming collaboration with Marcus Mumford of Mumford & Sons on Tuesday (March 24).
While the trio, composed of Walshy Fire, Ape Drums. and recent Billboard cover star Diplo, has lately been leaning south, via collaborations with Brazilians Anitta, Pabllo Vittar and Iza and Dominican artist El Alfa, the forthcoming Mumford collab “Lay Your Head on Me” suggests a pivot to folk is on the radar.
The single’s cover art, the cartoon Major Lazer tenderly laying his head on a horse, also suggests a rustic turn for the beloved electronic dancehall act. To that we say: giddy-up.
Major Mumford’s “Lay Your Head on Me” is out Thursday. You can also hear Major Lazer-style tunes via Diplo’s A Very Lazer Sunday live streams, broadcasting live from his living room every Sunday during the quarantine.
