In a candid conversation, AKTHEPROD opened up about the inspirations behind Personal, crediting his family’s rich musical legacy and the landscapes of his hometown in Woodbury, NY.
“My grandfather was an operatic singer, my parents performed at Carnegie Hall, and even one of my siblings released an album,” he shared. “Music has always been in my blood. Growing up surrounded by nature also gave me space to reflect and draw inspiration.”
But Personal isn’t just about beautiful melodies or polished production—it’s a raw and honest look at life’s challenges. Tracks like “Passionate” dive deep into the vulnerability of love and rejection, while the closing song “Bliss” celebrates self-acceptance and growth. “Being vulnerable in your art is everything,” AKTHEPROD explained. “It’s how people connect with your story.”

Once solely a producer, he’s now stepping into the spotlight as a lyricist and performer. “I used to write lyrics everywhere—on my phone, in journals, even on school notebooks,” he said. “Then it hit me: why not make beats for myself instead of pitching them to others? That realization changed everything.”
