A new safety and advice platform has launched in time for festival season in order to help festival-goers stay safe and well-informed wherever they are this summer.
Focusing on risk reduction and packed full useful advice, the new non-prit campaign titled Festival Safe was brought together by Broadwick Live’s Jon Drape, who also directs UK festivals such as , and . It was also designed by festival organisers, industry pressionals and the emergency services to help ensure a fun and safe experience for anyone attending one the season’s many festival ferings.
Launching live at Parklife earlier this month, the Festival Safe hub fered up opportunities to learn about what to expect before you go, camping, crime, drugs and alcohol, sexual health, mental health and more.
Speaking on the platform Jon explains, “I’ve worked and attended hundreds different festivals and events over the years and I’ve literally heard it all from hypothermia in July to people not realising they have to bring their own tents.
“Eventually you see patterns emerge and festival goers making the same mistakes and getting in the same jams year in year out. It was at this point that I realised no-one had laid out a manifesto for how to have a great festival experience. That’s ultimately what Festival Safe is – a one-stop shop for how to have the best possible time. It’s not a rule book to batter people around the head with, it’s a considered and knowing guide drawn from decades collective experience, good and bad, to ensure everyone has an amazing time from first-timers to seasoned veterans.”
