Last summer I featured French Alps Tiger’s debut single “Tell A Lie” and only now have they returned with something new. On Floor Is Lava, the South Wales-based outfit rip into nostalgia – in case you couldn’t tell from the title – with playful lyrics that capture our carefree lost youth with a distorted and raucous garage-rock bite.
The band proclaimed that the single is, “for the kids whose parents didn’t give a fuck and let them smack up on candy and fizz and walk the streets being cunts.” Nice.
Once again recorded in a friend’s garage studio in Swansea and this time mixed and mastered by Chris Dimas of Surf Dads fame out in Regina, Saskatchewan. Floor Is Lava was released digitally on Feb 29th, “because it ain’t that often you get to put something out on that date,” and physically on a super limited tongue-in-cheek floppy disk to be released sometime this month.
French Alps Tiger is also releasing a mockumentary video on the floppy disk release, talking about “the vibe”.
